Off The Hook
Saturday was action-packed. I walked around the West Village
after getting a haircut, and I stopped by Milk and Cookies which is a cookie bakery on Commerce Street. I got three Snickerdoodle cookies for
$2.50. They were yummy, and I ate them while at the movies where I went to see “Saving Face” starring Joan Chen. The audience was mostly Asian
since the film is about three generations of a very traditional Asian family in Flushing, where the doctor daughter is a lesbian and the mother is pregnant. Hilarity ensues!
Later I went to two birthday parties, Noah's and Michael's. The first one had a pinata, and the second one was peppered with "media-ites".
By the way, I finally bought an import of Do Me Bad Things' debut CD "Yes" and I also bought the classic "Cut" by The Slits.
One more reason Hollywood is dying a slow miserable death: Billy Bob Thornton is in a remake of "Bad New Bears". How could you go from going from f@cking Halle Berry in "Monster's Ball" and then do a silly kid movie?! WTF! ["Catwoman" doesn't seem so bad, huh?]
