A Different Corner

spitzers, originally uploaded by jill_nolie.

Last night I went to Spitzer's Corner, a massive new gastropub on the corner of Ludlow and Rivington.   The first thing that catches my eye on the menu is the Pork Fat Popcorn. For four dollars, you get popcorn drizzled with bacon fat which is just sinful. I ordered the mussels with Italian sausage and red pepper for dinner and it was great, but I wish there was bread for dipping.

There is a wide selection of beers, but I ordered one of Spitzer's house white wine, a Riesling which cost $10/glass.  Whoa! If I go again before it becomes ridiculously popular, then I will order a double IPA instead. BTW, the bartenders card religiously so don't leave home without ID.
